Regions
Graves & Sauternes
Whilst the Médoc region and Saint-Emilion receive a lot of attention, some of the oldest vineyards are much closer to the center of Bordeaux.
Arcachon Bay
Bordeaux’s seaside is lesser known than Saint-Tropez or Cannes, but it is nonetheless splendid! The blue-watered bay of Arcachon is where you’ll find oysters, fresh seafood and traipse the highest dune in Europe – the Dune of Pilat. A popular summer holiday destination for locals and international travelers, Arcachon is an easy one hour train ride from Bordeaux and worth the effort!
Médoc
Médoc, which means “in the middle of water” in Gascon language, stretches north of Bordeaux between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde Estuary.
Saint-Emilion & Pomerol
The medieval village of Saint-Emilion is picturesque, to say the least! Strolling through its charming narrow streets, you’ll discover more than 2000 years of history.
Cognac
Blessed with a maritime climate, and nestled beside the Charente River, Cognac is the perfect place to produce world renowned brandies.
Bordeaux
Bordeaux has become a must-see city for wine tourism, awarded title of Best European Destination in 2015. The New York Times and The Telegraph both listed it as a top destination in 2016, and continues to be a top travel destination to this day. But there’s more reasons to journey to this decadent city!
