Entering the world of Grand Cru wines and family-owned estates is to admire the breathtaking vineyard landscapes. As well as the vastness of all 12 appellations that Saint Emilion contains. World-famous wines such as Château Cheval Blanc, Château Ausone, and Château Angélus are produced here as well as Pétrus and Pomerol.

Historical grapes

Saint-Emilion and Pomerol are true testimony to the history of winemaking and mankind’s part in it. Between ancient traditions and technological innovations, it’s the passion and devotion of winemakers which produce skillfully blended and tastefully nuanced wines year after year.

Merlot is the king of grape varieties here. You’ll learn to pick out distinct aromas such as red berries with an elegant structure that lingers on the palate. Compared to the more tannic and bolder wine style of the Médoc or Graves regions, Saint Emilion wines are just as flavorsome but without so much punch!

Between the shared pleasure of wine tasting and friendly conversations with the winemakers, you’ll understand why the limestone soil plays such a big role in Merlot production. Entering the whimsical world of Saint-Emilion with its sanctified history and deep connection to the history of winemaking is a life changing experience.
