Want to upgrade your wine tasting knowledge? With this wine masterclass, you’ll learn everything there is to know about Bordeaux and more. In the heart of Bordeaux’s old town center, this wine tasting workshop will teach you not only the fundamentals of wine, but also the history of the vineyards, their unique characteristics, and main grape varieties. Throughout this masterclass workshop, you will also learn the correct and sophisticated approach to tasting, how to serve wine to your guests and how to pair Bordeaux wine with food.

The masterclass will be taught by a local wine professional with sommelier and/or vineyard experience.

After an introduction to the vineyards of Bordeaux, you will taste four different wines from various appellations, each with their own distinguished style and character. You will learn the specificities of each region in terms of soil, climate and grape varieties and learn how to recognize their unique taste. The wines will be paired with delicious chocolates and some local cheeses!

This workshop is accessible to both beginners and intermediate wine lovers wishing to (re)discover the Bordeaux vineyards from a different angle. This workshop is available all year long, so simply check the calendar for availabilities.

I was slightly skeptical at how formal the event would be but the host made it extremely fun whilst still teaching us about the different wines of Bordeaux. The wines were excellent as was the food. The location was wonderful, the wine (as well as cheese, chocolate and bread to compliment) was delicious and the sommelier, Jonathan was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The best part was experiencing Bar A Vin which is beautiful and has delicious cheese, bread, meats, and wine. The class is definitely just the fundamentals but it was really helpful to take before our half day tour to Saint Émilion. Jonathan was great!

Johnothan knows a lot about wines and not just from France. He was able to tell us all about the wines from all of the participants countries. The wines were really nice and it’s in a great location too, really close to everything. Johnothan is also very funny so made the class really enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!
